Instructions if Detent Ball becomes dislodged before installation

1. Wear eye protection.

2. Inspect spring for damage a bent spring will have to be replaced.

3. Separate the plate with plug disks from the two bolted together.

4. Align the bolted plates approximately as shown in photo.

5. Insert the spring into the detent spring hole (tweezers are suggested).

6. Place the detent ball atop the spring.

7. With a retracted ballpoint pen depress the spring and detent ball strait down.

8. While holding the spring and detent ball in a compress state strait down, twist the plates to align the profiles of the two plates. Let the detent ball slide under the edge of the top plate as the plate pushes the ballpoint pen off the detent ball.

9. The plates may not be perfectly aligned, slide the plates into alignment of their profiles being careful not to expose the spring and detent ball through the smiling slot. When the plates are properly aligned the detent ball will seat in a detent pocket in the adjacent plate.

10. Resume installation per the Configuration Data and Installation Instructions.
