Congratulations on your purchase of the AR-MasterTM Stock Pivot
AdapterTM. The enclosed Stock Pivot AdapterTM (SPA) and set of
instructions is intended for use on a Colt AR-15/M-16 Rifle.
Installation Instructions:
1) Completely read the Installation Instructions and the configuration data before beginning installation.
2) Wear eye protection.
3) Handle all firearms per the safety instructions detailed in the manufacturers handbook for each firearm, and in accordance with
NRA approved firearm safety handling procedures.
4) Be sure the firearm is NOT LOADED before beginning installation.
5) Remove the top screw from the butt plate of the rifle; if a sling is attached to the butt-stock it may be necessary to detach the sling
from the butt-stock.
6) Remove the butt-stock from the receiver extension tube and remove all spacers from the spring tube hole in the butt-stock; save these spacers as you will
re-use them. Take care not to loose the pin retention spring and plunger from the receiver on
the bottom right just behind the pistol grip.
7) Determine and assemble the SPA to the desired configuration per the configuration data provided.
8) Carefully slide the assembled SPA over the receiver extension tube so that the protruding alignment
lug is towards the receiver (plug disks towards stock).
9) Apply a GENEROUS amount of anti-seize or grease to the small diameter end and shoulder region of the spring tube spacer provided
with the SPA, avoid getting it in or on near the edge of the hole. Insert this spacer first into the butt-stock (small end first)
followed by any other spacer that was originally in the stock.

10) Apply a GENEROUS amount of anti-seize or grease under the head (cone side) of the new 1/4-28 x 2-1/4 screw provided with the
SPA; set this screw aside for the moment.
11) With the pin retention spring and plunger in place, carefully compress the pin retention spring back into it's hole in the receiver
while inserting the alignment lug into the receptacle in the receiver. Take care not to crush or damage the pin retention spring.
Carefully press the SPA against the receiver until it is fully against the receiver and then hold it there.

12) a) Without dropping the spacers out of the butt-stock; and while holding the SPA in place against the receiver, replace the butt-
stock over the receiver extension tube.

b) Insert the alignment lug on the butt-stock into the open receptacle of the SPA.

13) Constantly press the stock against the SPA and receiver as you insert and tighten the 1/4-28 x 2-1/4 screw provided with the SPA.
Take care not to over tighten this screw as you can damage the rifle or the SPA. Once the screw is tightened firmly apply several
drops of BREAK FREE® CLP® to each of the seams of the SPA on the top and bottom sides.
14) Now loosen the top stock screw 1/4 turn to permit the butt-stock and SPA to rotate and
index freely. Tighten or loosen the screw in 1/8 turns to obtain desired
resistance of the SPA as it is cycled. Keep the SPA oiled and well lubricated to deter abrasions between plates and possible galling of working parts.
Tightening may be necessary to restore desired resistance after a
break-in period.
